Hospital Tour

Hi all,

More updates. Our hospital will be El Camino Hospital in Mountain View. It is a good hospital and comes highly recommended by a lot of our friends who've been there.

On Monday Jan 5th, we went on a Maternity ward tour. It was both fun as well as educational. A nurse showed us around. We found out where we have to check in and what the labor/delivery room looks like. Pretty cool room complete with TV and everything. No cable, only terrestrial tv. :-p

Lakshmi got special treatment from the nurse as she was the only one with twins. We also got to see where we come in after hours. I was surprised to hear that there are only 10 labor/delivery rooms. I was expecting them to have a lot more. But they deliver on average only 12 babies a day. So 10 rooms/beds should be plenty.

We also saw some new borns (from a distance with a glass wall separating us). It was exciting stuff. The nurse told us we don't have to bring anything for Lakshmi except for going home clothes and toiletries. Babies will require going home clothes and car seats. The hospital will provide all of the other stuff.
